  • Do I need a provisional licence to start my driving lessons?
    Yes you must have your provisional licence in hand to be able to start driving lessons. Follow this link to apply for your first provisional driving licence.
  • How many driving lessons will I need?
    Every pupil will differ in how long they take to learn to drive, however DVSA guidelines state on average a learner requires 45 hours of professional driving instructor tuition, alongside 22 hours of private practice.
  • How long will my theory test pass be valid for?
    You must have a valid theory test pass to enable us to apply for your practical driving test. The theory test pass is valid for 2 years from date of pass. If you do not pass your practical test within those 2 years, you will need to retake your theory test. You can learn to drive whilst studying for your theory test.
  • What are considered as dangerous driving faults on my driving test?
    You are allowed up to 15 driving faults on your driving test, often called ‘minors’. A dangerous driving fault is when the examiner has had to intervene in your driving test to ensure the safety of the driver, pedestrians, or vehicle. This would automatically result in a fail.
  • Who can accompany me with private practice?
    Anyone who is over 21 years and has held a full driving licence for over 3 years can supervise a learner driver. The government guidelines are here.
  • Can I take the driving test in my own car?
    Once you’re driving instructor deems you are safe and ready for your test, he will book your driving test for you. You will then take your driving test in your driving instructors’ car that you have learnt to drive in. You can, if you wish use your own car. However, the vehicle must be roadworthy and meet the Government criteria here.
  • Will I be charged if I cancel my lesson?
    You can contact me to cancel / rearrange your lesson. However, lessons cancelled with less than 48 hour’s notice will be charged. You can read my Terms & conditions here
